well i never heard of it. In general, if its on a golf cart, it is not helpfull except to show you where not to hit. If its handheld, it could speed up play because you dont need to return to cart to grab a different club because you didnt know the distance.

Does a Canonet 28 Rangefinder work without a battery? If is does, what is the shutter speed?
Just inherited a beautiful piece of camera history and was told that it might still work! Ok, yes, it isn't a Leica M4 nor a Voigtlander R4, and it might very well be the 'cheapo' version of the Canon QL17 - nevertheless i am still interested in getting this camera to work.
Can someone tell me if this Camera will work without a battery? And if it does at what shutter speed?
The Canonet 28 has a unique stepless shutter that is electrically controlled. Which, unfortunately, means you need a battery to use it.
I am curious about one thing. If you spin the ring from the red "A" to an aperture setting the shutter locks at 1/30. Try that and see if the shutter will activate without the battery.
