how could this be put on your cell phone...or car....or anyother item of personalty??? You're kidding me?
Are you asking how GPS works on a cell phone? GPS stands for Global Positioning System. It's a service you pay for on your cell phone when you need driving directions.
I think you have this confused with OnStar, which is a way to get your car back if it should get stolen. It finds your car by way of satellite tracking, a sort of reverse GPS so that authorities can recover your car.

GPS has nothing to do with GPRS. GPS uses its own receiver.
You can get something like google maps for direction. But would half to have an unlimited plan or face tremendous charges.
