I have just bought a BlackBerry and want/wish to download a golf GPS. What is the best one to download?
I have read through some of the online reviews, but I am not sure that they have helped much if I'm honest. There seem to be good and bad comments against pretty much every App, with no stand out performer. So, I am trying my luck on here. Has anyone downloaded a golf GPS for their BlackBerry and really pleased with the product? Free or purchased, I am not that bothered as the price seem to be around $35 max. One thing to bear in mind, I live in the UK, so need a GPS that works in the UK as well as the US. I would ideally like to see a diagrammatic outline of the hole, with yardages to both hazards as well as front, middle and back of the greens. Can anyone advise me please.
Unfortunately i have used a few gps from my blackberry and none have been very good. There are two real downturns with these gps apps. first, they drain your battery quickly; even on the most efficient settings the battery of your phone will be dead after 18 holes. also, they are so inaccurate. i would approach my ball and find the yardage is 187, and after i grab a club and look back it says 171. I would reccommend a laser rangefinder wich is so much more accurate. you can easily use your head to figure out how far the front and back of green are if you know how far to the pin. also pinseeker technology is great on bushnells and the battery lasts seemingly forever. you can also aim at bunkers and hazards with it. if you really want a gps though, skycaddie is a good investment.
