I know it says "free" but is the basic package free? On the website it says after 24 hours you will be asked if you want this or that package. What will i get for free with the basic package. Also, the blackberry curve i use is not listed as far as i know. I have the curve 8530, but if i select another type of curve phone, will it still work?
It's free to download, but there's an annual fee of 39.95 to use the service. To me it's well worth it. You don't have to worry about downloading courses because they're all ready pre-loaded. I've used it since the summer and it's great. I bought my smartphone(Samsung Jack) specifically to download the Golf Logix App(plus I like the name Samsung Jack for some reason). You can check with the site as far as which phones are available(FAQ).

I love my Garmin iQue 3600 with Palm OS. It plays mp3's, it give turn by turn directions, I geocache with it, and I use it like any other Palm. Garmin has made this unit much more robust than Palm is making their units now--but it is not as tough as a dedicated GPS unit.
The sad part is Garmin discontinued the 3600. I bought mine --a refurbished unit that Garmin warranty's for one year on eBay for $250, including the car navigation kit. I then bought a 2 GB SD card for the maps and mp3 songs and an external GPS antennae for better reception while driving in forests and through mountains.
