What to look for in a range finder?
I want to get my husband a range finder for bow hunting for christmas, only I know nothing about them and don't want to ask him a lot of questions. He has hunted for years, but this is the first year with a bow. He is hunting turkey and deer. If you could give me details and what I might want to look for I be grateful! Thanks
I bow hunt in Michigan, and I have a Bushnell Sport. It is the cheapest Range finder that Bushnell sells at $150. I use it for deer season with a bow and gun and I also use it for turkey. I have become a better hunter not having to guess yardage. I would not recommend this range finder for out west looking for 500 yard targets, but for bow hunting it is perfect. Bushnell and Nikon are the most popular "affordable" brands. The Nikon glass is better but they cost more. If I bought another range finder I would get another Bushnell.
