Currently iPhone by default offers Google maps navigation. It is not turn-by-turn, but is still very useful and have many other features like local search that Garmin and TomTom do not. iPhone GPS is especially useful in USA. If you want turn-by-turn solution on iPhone you can buy TomTom iPhone application for about $100.

I want to buy a Garmin talking, color, mobile unit. Do these have to be updated or programmed? I have heard the newer ones are ready to go.?????
I bought the c320, this unit is very cost efective and has all of the features that some of the more expensive models have. You will need a computer to program the unit however, but the programming is easy and pretty straight forward. The unit also will take memory cards to expand the maps you can store. The 3-D feature is really nice!!

Okay, so I had a really really great deal on a GPS from Best Buy in my "cart" online but I work in retail and didn't get home in time and the sale ended. Does anyone work for Best Buy or any electronics place that sells GPS's, particually the Navigon 5100 or any other good GPS's, and knows when they will be on sale again??
